After the Loma Prieta Earthquake of 1989, Mr. Panasci obtained invaluable first hand experience in seismic damage evaluation and structural rehabilitation of buildings such as the Oakland City Hall Annex.
The Northridge Earthquake of 1994, one of the highest ground accelerations ever recorded in urban North America, caused an estimated $20 billion in damage and remains one of the costliest natural disasters in U.S. history.
Working with building owners, attorneys, government agencies and insurance company agents, P+A investigated hundreds of dwelling units and numerous commercial and office buildings to determine and evaluate the extent and cause of earthquake damage.
P+A was responsible for the design and construction administration in the rehabilitation and seismic reinforcement of numerous structures totaling over 30 million dollars of construction cost.
